Is Your Company Ready for the AI Deadline?

Master the AI Readyness journey for your Organisation

Every private company in Dubai now has a two year deadline to become AI ready. It is easy to hear that and think it is someone else’s problem, a government initiative, a policy headline, not something that actually changes what your team does on Monday morning.

But after 14 years of training professionals across Fortune 500 companies and fast growing startups alike, I have noticed the same pattern everywhere I go. Most organizations think of AI readiness as one skill. It is not. It is at least four, and almost every company I work with is strong in one of them and nearly blind in the rest.

Here is how I break it down.

    Daily AI

This is the simplest level, and the one every single employee needs, regardless of role. It is knowing which AI tool to reach for, and when.

Claude, for careful, enterprise grade thinking. ChatGPT, for quick drafts and images. Gemini, for research across the web. And Microsoft Copilot, when it is your company’s own data on the line, because that is the one built with enterprise security, keeping your information exactly where it belongs.

Get this right, and your people stop guessing. They just know which tool to use, for which job, safely.

    Business AI

This is where teams go deeper. Marketing, HR, finance, operations. Not just using AI, but building with it.

At this level, business users start creating their own Copilot agents for the tasks specific to their role, with no coding needed. They automate the repetitive parts of their work using Power Automate, so approvals, reports, and follow ups happen without anyone chasing them down.

This is simple to build, and it is built by the people who actually do the work every day.

    Next Level AI

This is where it goes technical. Your IT and development teams building complete generative AI applications, systems where multiple AI agents talk to each other, handle entire processes end to end, and integrate deep into your existing business systems.

This is not a quick agent someone in HR put together in an afternoon. It is custom AI infrastructure, built to actually run parts of your business.

    AI Drivers

This is leadership. Every AI rollout that fails, fails at the top. No one steering it, no real ownership, no way to measure whether it is actually working.

Getting the first three levels right does not matter much if no one at the leadership level is genuinely accountable for how AI adoption is going.

    Where does your company stand

Most organizations I meet are strong in one of these four levels and almost blind in the rest. That gap is exactly where the real risk sits, and it is also exactly where the real opportunity is.

If you are wondering where your own organization stands, that is a good place to start the conversation. I am Akriti Lal, a Microsoft Certified Trainer based in Dubai, and I help organizations work through all four levels, from everyday tool literacy to building your own AI agents, led the right way from the top.

If your company is thinking about this, reach out. I would be glad to talk it through.
